Diverse leaders cultivate diverse organizations

I don't have data, only a hunch that organizations that thrive on diversity have leaders who have cultivated their own diverse personal networks. This implies that less diverse organizations are led by people with more monoculture networks.

I'm talking here about ethnic, racial, gender and generational diversity. Diverse thinking is vital to organizational learning and innovation, so there is a business case for it. One implication is that we focus more on hiring and elevating leaders whose personal networks are intentionally more diverse.
