Dacher Keltner, is psychology researcher and faculty director of the Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley. His study on the impact of emotions relative to inflammation levels indicates the positive emotions reduce inflammations related to all manner of diseases and compromises to wellbeing.
Further studies show that not all positive emotions are equal. There is one that exceeds all others in health and wellbeing: the experience of awe.
Awe is the essence of focus and all other practices of mindfulness. We should be talking about how to design awe into workplaces, classrooms and communities.
