Harvard Business Review had a recent article that raised the question of why so many male leaders in corporations are incompetent. It's partly because of the dynamic that only competent leaders can recognize and support the development of other competent leaders. As soon as leaders are more incompetent, it sets in motion the domino of following generations of equally incompetent leaders.
The other side of the dynamic is that men who lack emotional intelligence also lack leadership intelligence, which is why women often outperform men as leaders. This is a call for women to not lean into male leadership models.
