Defining What's Important

In the Agile Canvas way of doing business, we have very specific ways of talking about what's important to do and achieve.

We make sense of what's important in the context of tempo. Timing is everything. The question isn't what's important. That list is ever-growing and constrained only by the dreams and realities of our markets and people in our organization. The question is when is it important.

When it comes to intentions, questions and sprint actions, what matters is:

  • What needs to happen before other things
  • What resources we have available
  • What accelerates return on investment of resources

We keep all intentions, questions and sprint items timestamped according to these three organizing criteria. This makes it possible to always be doing the right things at the right time.
