I think there is utility in labeling things like flowers, vegetables, meats, music genres and social trends. People: not so much. Even the esteemed labels pandered by personality assessments support fixed mindsets and weaken growth mindsets.
In a growth mindset, we know about the neuroplasticity of our brains, that there are no permanent structures. We can only pretend to have them in fixed mindsets. Labels, even positive ones, make growth more difficult and less likely even as it remains very possible.
It only helps to talk about moments. We all have extroverted and introverted moments. The more moments we accumulate, the more each way of being in the world becomes habit. And habits are durable but not immutable. The faster we let go of labels, the more growth we realize.
