Can we trust leaders to learn?

I know some of the smartest people around who are raising new questions about leadership and who would consider the ability to learn as the most vital quality of a good leader.

That said, many leaders in any venue have never learned how to direct their own learning. Sure, some are conference and social media reading junkies. Many don't expose themselves to new leadership thinking because they have never learned how to have the kinds of new questions that would inspire or provoke that. Many don't know how to translate reading into actual habit building because they never learned about habit building.

It is perhaps realistic they can and will do learning when they learn these meta-skills.
