Softening personal dislike

Some people, consciously or unconsciously, go out of their way to annoy us. They provoke in us a genuine personal dislike. Our rationalizations for our feelings and assessments can be singular or plural.

We can soften our position with small considerations of anything we find valuable in them. It could be we like some of their intentions or abilities. We could value some of their contributions. Most mindfully, we can curiously explore more about any hidden goodness.

Zat Rana has a recent Medium piece on emotions as probability calculators. Emotional intelligence and freedom is about understanding emotions, all emotions, as information. They give us insights into probabilities. Curiosity opens us up to discovering actualities.

This perspective allows for the emotions of intuition that guide decisions and learning. Core to the practice of intuition is not confusing emotions for reality.
