The conversations about equal pay and equal opportunity in the workplace are important conversations I need to be taken seriously in the context of what equal requires.
What's possible is that equal pay requires first democratic workplaces of equal power. This is where regardless of gender or generation or any other demographic differences that we all have a chance to participate in governance in the running of day-to-day business. It's possible that only when this occurs we have the kind of culture that can support opportunity and pay equality.
This requires a retooling of what we think about is leadership teams in his organizational strategies and structures and culture. It means nothing last reimagining how decisions get made how information gets shared and how we move from a two class system of power haves and have-nots to a single unified culture of everyone sharing the future of the organization.
