In a community gathering this week where our group used the Agile Canvas to map out its future in social justice, our CEO commented that the Canvas asks new questions. The implication is that a new future is most possible with new questions.
There are all kinds of reasons why groups would assume that the questions they have been working from, the old questions, have the power to create a new future. They might have been the right questions in the past, but now they don't have the power to inspire and inform a future different from the past.
The old questions include questions about deficiencies, threats, problems, disappointments, individual efforts, competition, leadership and blame. The new questions are about possibilities, dreams, curiosity, assets, collaboration and commitments. Just shifting the questions shifts the space into the magic of courage and connection.
