The obsolescence of controlling bosses

We don't often encounter these days who confess their work would be glorious if they only had a controlling boss who tells them what to think and feel and do, keeps them on the defensive and controllable with critical feedback and dictates who they can talk, when and what about.

Most people want freedom, connection and a sense of meaning that comes from working from passions and strengths rather than from compliance and inadequacy. They want to love their work and do what matters. Controlling bosses have no power to make any of this happen.
