The whole question of how to raise the next generation of leaders was easier in eras where we seemed clear on the future nature of work. It's now less certain. How much of work will be virtual, powered by artificial intelligence and engaging skill sets that don't even yet exist? These uncertainties make the future of leadership at least as uncertain.
What we are clear on is that good leaders will contribute value if they know how to create vibrant cultures. This involves igniting passions, engaging strengths, inspiring through stories, facilitating inclusion, initiative and integrity. Strong cultures will be required especially if the nature of work becomes less predictable than ever.
